Sake Haus
Sake Haus is the latest addition to the historic Roosevelt Row Art District in Downtown Phoenix. Enter the doors and be teleported to the back alleys of Tokyo. The walls are adorned with posters for Japanese punk bands, building the vibe. One look the drink menu brings me right back to being in Tokyo all over again. Naturally, the best choice to go with is the classic Highball, a distinctly Japanese drink made of Japanese Whisky and Soda Water, allowing you to savor the distinct flavors of the whisky, without being overpowering. The food menu is an exceptional blend of sushi. Two outstanding nigiri everyone needs to try: The Ootoro (fatty bluefin tuna), and the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu - It’s the real deal, no fakes here. Of the classic offerings, the piece that stood out the most is definitely the Yellowtail—a piece often mired in mediocrity, yet shines beautifully at Sake Haus. If you don’t know what to try, definitely pick an Omakase Set. It will give you a curated taste of their best offerings. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
